Ingeborg Breines (Norway)

An international peace advocate. She has an important role for many years in UNESCO to help transform the culture of war and violence into a culture of peace and non-violence, not least looking at women’s contribution. Former co-President of the International Peace Bureau (IPB), one of the world's oldest anti-weapons organizations and Nobel Peace laureate in 1910. Breines is a lecturer, an international consultant, and the director of an Academy for Arts and Sciences in Norway. She served in many conflict-stricken countries and is an expert-writer in disarmament, conflict prevention and management.
